Happy Easter, Bunny Fun with Pebeo Relief Outliner

My dear friend, Karen, wanted to try getting a stained glass effect with the inks.  I decided to use the Pebeo Relief Outliner to paint a bunny.

The Pebeo Outliner is a water-based opaque paste that you squeeze out of the tube and after drying it leaves a ridge that will “contain” the ink.  Here’s the comment from Michaels “Designed to create barriers for liquid and mixed media arts, it can be applied directly from the tube onto glass, polyester, acetate, canvas, metal and other surfaces. The dense, transparent color is also great for metallic embellishments and designs in relief.”

Bunny 1First I drew the bunny outline onto the Yupo Paper.  Then put a line of the Pebeo outliner paying attention to close the shapes.

Bunny 3I applied the ink directly into the “shapes” letting it pool but trying not to let the ink overflow the outliner.

I did some brush work for fur but probably didn’t need to.  Then added more black in the eyes and white for the eye highlight and whiskers.

For the sky I added blending solution freely, dripped in blue and rose and tilted the paper to allow the ink to flow.  Same for the green grassy area.

Here’s a cool video in French with English subtitles demonstrating the Pebeo outliner.
