Portraits can be a challenge with any medium. This young girl in the snow is a very satisfying project. You’ll enjoy painting her. Based on a reference photo by Langll on Pixabay.

For those of you that have completed Level 2 it’s time to practice your brush, pen, marker skills and values with this portrait of a Young Girl in the Cold.

You should have painted the Boy Portrait first but those of you with Advanced skills may go directly to the Snow Girl. You will discover how to paint skin tones on Yupo paper, add a feathered hat with skills similar to fur in Level 3 and learn how to create a winter scarft/shawl for a lovely painting.

Skills prerequisite for this class are markers and pen.

  1. Snowgirl has been a wonderful stretch for me, and I could not be more pleased with the effort or the class. Sheryl, in her usual articulate and easy-to-follow style, moved through the instruction in a way that helped build my confidence and allowed me to see the portrait building. What a thrill to think that by the end of the course, I had a piece that I could be really proud to claim. 🙂

  2. outstanding job! your captured her likeness spot on. congratulations on a great job. lovely
