This adorable Hidden Raccons painting is a great combination of detailed raccoons and a textured tree. The fur is a simpler method than that found in the Level 3 Pets class. Both Level 2 and Level 3 students will enjoy this painting.

For those of you that have completed Level 2 it’s time to practice your brush, pen, marker skills and values with this darling Hidden Raccoon painting

This is a good beginning to understand how to layer colors to paint fur.   This gives those of you who are new to painting fur the opportunity to study fur in less details than in the Level 3 Pets class. The tree itself is a fun stamped texture with attention to lights and darks to get the 3D affect. The painting is a nice balance between details for the fur and loose tree bark. Let’s paint!

  1. I am working on this now. It has been a tremendous learning experience. I am halfway satisfied with results and have the tree to complete. The biggest learning has been working with pens and getting coloring correct. Will show completed picture when done.

  2. Enjoyed the class and my finished painting. It was a challenge to keep up as I didn’t have the same markers and had to improvise with my Studio 71 markers and AI. I found the class very informative.

  3. Enjoyed the class and was somewhat satisfied with my painting. I did find it challenging at first since I did not have the correct markers. I used studio 71 markers and AI to match the colors from the photo. Sheryl, thanks for a fun and informative class.

  4. I do not see how to post my finished painting to the forum. Lois

  5. Thank you for this course. It was very interesting and easy to follow. I learned a lot.

  6. Sheryl, I had a great time painting these critters. . .your video’s were wonderful, as usual. Thanks again for offering these classes. Jan Titus

  7. I just finished Sheryl’s Raccoon Class and it was awesome! As usual, learned a lot of new things. Got to practice my marker and pen work a lot in this class, which was what I was looking for. Sheryl also introduced a new set of inexpensive markers in the class that are really fun that I had not heard of before and didn’t know were available. I also learned to practice and grasp the concept of warm and cool colors, which I had struggled a bit with before. I got to use some of my favorite techniques on this one, sort of a flashback to when I first started playing with alcohol inks. Lots of challenges, but always a joy. I think this has been my favorite class so far. It looks intimidating, but if I can do it you can too!

  8. Loved the class! It was challening but loved learning how to use the markers with the inks for detail. I would definitely recommend the class. Sheryl is a great instrutor.
