Level 4, the Water class Part 2 Is for students that have completed Level 2: Tools and Techniques Class or have extensive experience using Alcohol Inks.

In this course we learn to observe the difference between “windows” and “mirrors” in the ocean, the patterns of foam in the water and a big crashing wave on the shoreline. Our final project is to paint the sun setting on the ocean and learn how to carry that light all the way to the shoreline.

Paint what you see, not what you know or think you know.

  1. Loved this..as with all I have taken!

  2. This course was invaluable for picking up the many nuances that you need to paint water, waves, foam and sunsets. There are so many things that you just take for granted until you need to really study them and put them down on paper. Sheryl does an excellent job of breaking everything down to the basics and turns it into step by step instruction easy to follow and understand. It was definitely a challenging course, but well worth it.

  3. Great courses on water. I like how Sheryl stretches us to paint what we normally wouldn’t attempt. I love how we are always either learning new techniques and growing on our skill in each project to improve or work at. Sheryl has great tips and a lot of times sees what my own eyes miss to improve on a project! She is also exploring and learning in her artwork herself. She comes alongside and builds on your creativity, not a teacher who dictates do it this way and this is the only way. She encourages creativity and doesn’t fret when there are mistakes. The course has given me insight and motivation to further explore this medium in other subjects. It gets an A+ from me! I’m looking forward to see what other courses she builds on this website and love seeing the creations of other students.
